January Meeting and 8th Ward Special Election Endorsement

Bring a neighbor and a friend to the St. Louis Young Democrats' first meeting of the year! We'll be hearing from Michele Hornish, State Director of It Starts Today Missouri, discussing engagement opportunities, as well as voting whether to endorse a candidate in the 8th Ward Special Election.

Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 7:00 pm, International Institute 3401 Arsenal St, St Louis, MO, 63118 *Open to the public, only members before 01/08/18 are eligible to vote *Please be considerate of the neighbors and use the off street lot in the rear, accessible from Louisiana St.

The St. Louis Young Democrats will vote whether to endorse a candidate for the 8th Ward Aldermanic Special Election taking place February 13, 2018. During this meeting, candidates who completed the Young Dems Endorsement Questionnaire will have an opportunity to seek the organization's endorsement and speak to membership.

Candidates Leave // General Discussion (30 mins)

The Democratic Central Committee of St. Louis has nominated Paul Fehler as the Democratic Candidate in the race. Since there is no Democratic primary in a St Louis City Special Election we invited Annie Rice, an independent candidate who identifies as a Democrat, to seek our endorsement as well.  A member may choose to vote "No Endorsement" rather than a vote for either candidate, if desired.

Members who are in good standing before Monday January 8, 2018 will have the opportunity to vote using an online ballot that will be emailed Tuesday, January 9th. Online voting will close at 11:59 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018. If you believe you are a member but have not received an email by Wednesday, January 10th, please 1) check your spam folder, and if that doesn't work 2) email us at stlyoungdems@gmail.com.
