This coming January, the positions on the Executive Chair of the Young Democrats of Greater St. Louis will be up for election. If you’d like to run for or nominate somebody for a position, please email stlyoungdems@gmail.com. Below are the descriptions for each position. After receiving your name and contact information (or the name and contact information of a nominee), we’ll put together the names of those running for each position and send out an email of those candidates. You have two weeks to submit your nomination.

Join us throughout October!
Throughout October, there are plenty of ways to get involved with Young Dems. We have canvassing, debate watch parties, and brunch. Yes, you can eat brunch and help Senator McCaskill at the same time. Will you join us? Here is a list of everything going on this month:
October 2 (Today!) – New Leaders Council (NLC), our country’s premier progressive training program for young professionals, is hosting an information session specifically for members of the Young Democrats and select others. Come learn about NLC how to apply to the 2013 Institute. We will meet at 6:00pm at Sasha’s on Shaw.
October 8 – Join Young Dems for the last membership meeting of the year. This time, we are switching up the location and giving The Dubliner downtown a try. We will meet at 7:00pm to hang out and discuss everything the Young Dems has going on through the end of the year. Check out our Facebook page to RSVP.
October 13 – Please join the Young Democrats for brunch with Senator McCaskill! We are on the host committee for a brunch fundraising event at The Royale. Brunch starts at 10:00am. Please use this link. We have attached the formal invitation to this email.
October 20 – Join us and Representative Jill Schupp as we canvass for Senator McCaskill, Secretary of State Candidate Jason Kander, and Representative Jeanne Kirkton! We will start canvassing at 10:00am. Details to come.
October 27 – Join us and Senator Joe Keaveny as we canvass for Senator McCaskill, Secretary of State Candidate Jason Kander, and Senator Scott Sifton! We will start canvassing at 10:00am. Details to come.

Our next membership meeting is just around the corner! Meet up with your fellow Young Dems after work on Monday, July 9 at 7:00pm at Maggie O’s. We’ll discuss our plans for the August primary and November general elections.
Canvass for Martin!

Fundraising Time!
We did it! We reached our goal for May! Your contributions will help us financially support targeted races by donating money for yard signs, canvassers, and GOTV efforts.
Endorsement Meeting
Our Politics & Politicy Committee has been working hard on finding quality candidates to endorse for the August and November elections. As a part of that process, we are holding a special membership meeting to receive input on who the organization should support. We will hold a special, members only meeting on Monday, May 21 at 6:30pm at Maggie O’s.
Please note that this meeting is for members only. Non-members will not be able to attend. If you would like to become a member, please go here. We will also accept new members before the meeting.
